Description
Black cable guard or pole guard is used on utility poles to cover and protect cables attached to the pole. Its use adds an extra layer of protection to conduits and cables against possible damage from impact, UV radiation and human intervention. Cable guards are manufactured from polyethylene.
They are easily extendable, with one end belled to accept the opposite end of a matching pole guard. Attaching to steel or concrete poles is achieved by using band-it type straps through pre-cut slots. Mounting to wooden poles is either by the method above or self-tapping screws through the flanges on each side.
